The new Love Island Line-up has been announced again this year before the start of the show. The program will debut on the 5th of June and will be filmed in sunny Mallorca. While we sit in our living rooms in the cold weather of the UK.
The cast will consist of five boys and five girls. Let me say that the diversity is really hitting this year! Although probably not the most body-inclusive show in the UK, but who’s shocked… We will get there at some point.
Ruchee and Mitchel
Up first there is Ruchee Gurung, a 24-year-old beautician. A gorgeous woman from Sutton, she is probably the shortest on the show as she was discreetly “paired” with Mitchel Taylor, 26 year old plumber from Sheffield, who “needs someone smaller than him” because he’s six foot one. But we all know men have a tendency to lie about their height.
Apparently, he also needs “some spice there” because he doesn’t want a nice girl he finds boring. That being said, his abs seem to be his only personality trait.
Mehdi
Next up is Mehdi Edno, a 26-year-old Communications manager from London, and Bordeaux, a French contestant! Last year with Davide who was Italian and this year with a French guy, Love Island is really branching out on different cultures…
Apparently, he stands out from the other traditional English guys because he doesn’t wear skinny jeans. He’s not wrong that French men have better fashion sense than English men.
But skinny jeans have become the bottom of the barrel.
Catherine
Catherine Agbaje, a 22-year-old stunning girl from Dublin, works as a commercial real estate agent. At the grand age of 22, she claims she has been single forever. A quite bold statement given she’s only lived a quarter of her life.
She also describes what her perfect man would be: “anything that breathes”. Wow! The standards are gonna be hard for the men to reach, truly…
George
George Fensom, a 24-year-old business development executive from Bedford has been labeled the “funny one” of the group. Oh boy…
At least he knows it takes more than being physically attractive to find a girl. It apparently also takes dad jokes! We will see how he gets along on the show. My guess, not great.
Love Island claims he’s ready to impress with his ‘tanned ankles’. Shocking, another English person who fake tans before going to a sunny country.
Molly
And next, there is Molly Marsh. 21-year-old performer and social media creator from Doncaster. Your typical Love Island contestant, white. According to her, her type of guy is cheeky. She also says she likes guys with a talent. Football is apparently a talent.
Tyrique
Which leads us to the next contestant, Tyrique Hyde, a 24-year-old semi-professional footballer from Essex. Apparently, a lot of girls don’t like that he’s a footballer. Which is no surprise given their reputation. Although they probably shouldn’t be too concerned since he is only semi-professional and no one has heard of his football career before Love Island.
He then proceeds to say he’s never had a relationship before and that he’s scared of commitment. And you’re confused why girls groan when you say you’re a football player? Good Luck with this one.
Ella
We then have Ella Thomas, 23-year-old model from Glasgow. Good pair to be fair, one with a football career no one knows about and the other one a model no one knows about. Meant to be.
Apparently, she has been described as “breathtaking to look at”…evidently she has to be or no one will watch the show.
She also claims she is looking for her husband on the show, a bold statement to make given the reputation of the men who go on this show. It rarely ever works, apart from of course with Molly Mae and Tommy Fury.
Andre
Andre Furtado is next. At 21 years old, he claims to be a business owner. His first language being Portuguese, apparently he makes all the girls fall in love with him. Which makes sense when he then says he wants to find his wife. I’m sure his future love-island wife will love all the girls fawning over him saying “I love bum bum” in Portuguese…
You can smell the arrogance through the screen. He may want a wifey-material kind of girl, but he is far from being a husband-material kind of guy. My goodness!
Jess
And lastly, Jess Harding, 22-year-old Beautician from London. Her long list of icks will hopefully humble the boys in the villa.
Essentially, Love Island is like a dating app but with only 10 good-looking people who will all be rich after the show. At least none of them are under the age of 20. It gets creepy otherwise.
